DIY GoPro Harness for Chuy Chihuahua

As you probably know by now, GoPro’ing has quickly become one of my newest hobbies. GoPro’ing with a Chihuahua or small dog is such a fun way to create irresistible memories and show the world from a different point of view! I finally finished uploading and editing a video from a few weeks ago of Chuy at Sandbridge Beach. Traveling for BlogPaws last week has kept me busy! DIY GoPro Harness for Chihuahuas {And Other Small Dogs!}

A lot of people say that the GoPro Dog Harness is too big for Chihuahuas and other small breeds. Plus, it’s a little pricey! I have a solution to that problem! I was inspired for this idea from a YouTube video by EggHair.

I already own the GoPro Head Mount which is what you’ll need for this DIY tutorial. The head mount is about $13 versus the dog harness which runs around $40+. In other words the Head Mount is a two for one deal if you have a small dog!

How To Turn the GoPro Head Mount into a Dog Harness

1. Take away the top strap from the head mount.
2. Adjust the remaining strap to the size of your dog’s chest.
3. If that is still too big, remove the mount and the back piece and add them to the smaller strap you first removed.

Things to Keep In Mind about Your Chihuahua’s GoPro Harness

The strap should should fit your Chihuahua comfortably without slipping or cutting off their circulation. The comfort and safety of your dog should always come first! This method may not work for every dog but it does work for Chuy Chihuahua and I wanted to share it in the hopes that you can use this for your small dog.

Chuy’s GoPro Adventure in Sandbridge

We started the day at my favorite restaurant, Margie and Rays. They seriously have the best She Crab Soup and Fried Oysters of all time! Whenever we come here with Chuy, we get our food “to go” and sit outside on the balcony.

After lunch we drove about 5 minutes to the beach in Sandbridge. Here are a few pics so you can see the DIY GoPro Harness on Chuy. He is able to comfortably run around the beach while getting a little video footage at the same time!
